John Jain is a decorated college professor and medical practitioner for he received various awards. In 2006, the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society awarded his research with general program prize paper. The Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics recognized his teaching excellence by giving him the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2001. Searle also recognized him as an excellent professor in 1996.
He was appointed into different significant positions throughout his career. He was appointed by Vivian Dickerson, MD, President of National Committee on Ethics of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology to a certain position at the said committee. He was also part of the Scientific Advisory on Fertility Preservation of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
